Reposition
Architecture Design; at Neeson Murcutt Architects, Sydney, 2016This project turns a heavily degraded, abandoned woodchip mill into an eco-sensitive reserve for tourism and creative industry. During its operation for 40 years, the mill had always been a crucial driving force to local economy; as a result, its closing resulted in a huge recession for the local community. From masterplan to architectural design, this project attempts a delicate touch to preserve its historical texture while providing a platform for sustainable tourism. The idea of ‘rejuvenation’ broadly frames the intent - environmentally, economically, and socially.
