In Search of the Body 1

Academic | The University of Sydney, instructor Dr. Sean Anderson + Mano Ponnambalam, 2014

This one-week project is an exploration of the spatial relationship between the body and the object - a wearable instrument that is fabricated solely with bamboo sticks through a traditional technique of weaving, without any glue or extra connections. Matter is transformed into form, which, due to its material quality and structural transformability, allows itself to stretch and collapse into different shapes. It invites the participant to engage with itself and discover a spatial experience through interactions and movement.
